Alive Cathedrals

The sky in Salamanca is not only almost touched by the pinnacles and vanes of the Cathedrals, but also by some vegetal elements which try to get to the sky as well. These are hundred-year-old trees which are scattered our geography and some of them are even older than 500 years old.

The route takes the visitor to the biggest black mulberry tree in San Pelayo de la Guareña. Or under the branches of the amazing cork oak trees of the Carreteros, in Valdelosa. The route also takes the visitor to the great trees in Torresmenudas, Valverdon, Juzbado, Florida de Liebana, Almenara de Tormes, San Pedro del Valle, Santiz and Zamayon.

The Fundacion Tormes EB sponsors this project for the conservation of great trees by keeping and preserving them, looking in this way the environmental sustainability.
